Topic(s): Nutrition

Given increased obesity and insulin resistance in pediatrics and limited resources, identifying children with cardiometabolic risk factor clustering can help focus resources on those at greatest risk. Faculty will emphasize assessment of risk on a continuum, treatment options, and the pediatrician’s role in decreasing risk for diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Identifying and treating comorbidities also will be described.
