Location: Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, 353-355
CME credit: 1.50

Session Type: Seminar

Topic(s): Injury, Violence & Poison Prevention

Firearm-related injuries are a major source of morbidity and mortality for children and adolescents. Evidence suggests approaches pediatricians can take to discuss firearm injury prevention during anticipatory guidance and in high-risk circumstances. Faculty will review legislation; barriers to and benefits of asking and counseling about firearms; and what to ask, how to ask it, and what to do with the answers.
