Pediatric medical, anesthesia, and surgical specialists working abroad or volunteering for short-term missions may find themselves without the knowledge and skills to provide optimal diagnostic and perioperative management. Faculty with experience in these settings will share resources, emphasizing perioperative pitfalls, plain X-ray findings (when CT and MRI are not available), safe anesthesia and sedation, and pain management.
