Faculty will present an overview of the changing epidemiology of hepatitis C virus (HCV), including the increase in acute infection among young people associated with injection drug use. The risk for perinatal transmission and prevention opportunities will be highlighted, followed by a discussion of recommendations (existing and proposed) to identify pregnant women infected with HCV and following their infants.
