Continuation. The basics of nutritional management will be discussed in this presentation. Topics such as controlling hay waste, component pricing of feedstuffs, residue grazing and supplementation, and matching changes in BCS with the cow's nutritional calendar will be covered. Part 2 of 2.

Terry Engelken

Associate Professor

Dr. Terry Engelken is an Associate Professor at Iowa State University in the Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine Department. He received both his DVM and MS degrees from Kansas State University.

Upon graduation from veterinary school in 1987, Dr. Engelken was an associate in a predominately beef cattle practice in KS. He returned to K-State to complete a residency and MS degree in Beef Cattle Production Medicine in 1994.

Dr. Engelken then spent 15 years on the faculty at Mississippi State University where his activities centered around research, teaching, and service to beef cow/calf and stocker operations in the southeastern United States. He then joined the faculty at Iowa State CVM in 2007 and works with cow/calf and feedlot operations.

Terry and his wife Elizabeth have been married for 32 years and have 4 children.
