Dental Symposium: Up to 80% of dogs and cats over 3 years of age are reported to have some degree of periodontal disease. Whether it be severe attachment loss or tooth fracture, surgical extraction is routinely performed in practice. Not every extraction goes as smoothly as we like. Whether it be resorbing tooth roots or fractured root tips, encountering these complications can be exceptionally frustrating. This session will discuss both tips and tricks to help prevent extraction complications, as well as techniques and approaches for performing surgical extractions in ways to achieve predictable healing. Part 3 of 4.
