A well-designed floor plan is the single most important element of any building project. This is especially true for an animal hospital. The specialized design of a veterinary hospital or kennel is much different from the project experience of most local architects and builders. The proper arrangement of hospital functions, correct room sizes, maximum utilization of space, and arrangement of cabinets and equipment must all combine to produce a truly successful floor plan. This presentation will explore the basics of animal facility floor plan design with an emphasis on mistakes to avoid.
