General Veterinary Technician Session: Audience members will learn about specific diabetic feline nutrition, insulin, blood sugar curves, home glucometry for felines, and converting the diabetic cat.

Rachel Poulin

Clinical Supervisor - Internal Medicine & Dermatology

Rachel graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Columbus State Community College in 2007. She did her internships at The Ohio State University and became specialized in Internal Medicine in 2013. She is currently the 2016 president of the AIMVT ((Academy of Internal Medicine Veterinary Technicians). She spent 7 years at Coral Springs Animal Hospital in the Internal Medicine Department, the last three as the department manager. Rachel recently relocated to Colorado where she is the Clinical Supervisor of Internal Medicine and Dermatology at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. Rachel loves to teach, she is passionate about education and enforcing a high expectation in our standards of care and client education. She speaks internationally on Internal Medicine topics as well as general patient care and client education. She believes that the way we raise up awareness and quality of this profession is to raise each other up and raise the standards of care and knowledge.

In her free time - ha ha! Rachel has really fallen in love with hiking all those Colorado mountains with husband, Jay and dogs Emmy and Joey. When she's not doing that she can probably be found watching Game of Throwns!
