Specialty Veterinary Technician Session: A practical review of the clotting cascade. Basic knowledge of clotting function can be very beneficial to the lab technician. We will review platelet function, diagnostic testing, and several of the most common disorders seen, an well as some interesting case reports.

Susan Kolkka, AAS, LVT, VTS, (Clinical Pathology), Manager, Oradell Animal Hospital, Paramus, New Jersey.
Susan graduated from the State University of New York at Delhi in 1988 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has worked for the Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey for over 25 years, and has held various positions within the company including team leader, lab supervisor, blood bank coordinator, and clinic manager. She won first place in the NAVTA sponsored case report contest at NAVC in 2015. She has lectured at several conferences including NAVC and AAHA. Susan is a charter member of the Academy of Veterinary Clinical Pathology Technicians (AVCPT).
