David Twedt

Professor Small Animal Medicine
Colorado State University

Dr. Twedt is a professor in the Department of Clinical Sciences and director of the Veterinary Endoscopy Teaching Center at Colorado State University. After graduating from Iowa State University, he entered an internship and medicine residency at the Animal Medical Center in New York City with an interest in gastroenterology, then joined the staff of the Animal Medical Center and was also a research associate at the Liver Research Center of Albert Einstein Medical School. He is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SAIM). Dr. Twedt is past president of the ACVIM Internal Medicine Specialty and past president and chairman of the board of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the Comparative Gastroenterology Society. His publication and research interests include liver and gastrointestinal disease. He has published many articles in the area of gastroenterology, liver disease, and endoscopy and is involved in research on liver and gastrointestinal disease, lecturing nationally and internationally in those areas. He has been the recipient of several teaching awards. Dr. Twedt is also co-editor of Current Veterinary Therapy 14 and 15
