We'll cover the basic procedures routinely needed in miniature pig practice including blood collection, catheter placement, hoof and tusk trims, euthanasia, etc.

Dr. Edson was born and raised in New Jersey. In 2005 he completed Paramedic certification (MICP) through Virtua Health prior to graduating from Rutgers Cook College with a double-major in Animal Science and Biology (BS) in 2007. He is a 2011 graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Growing up on a small farm, agriculture and animals have always been his passion. He is currently serving as the Chair and Large Animal Representative on the AVMA Committee on Disaster and Emergency Issues, is a site visitor for the AVMA Council on Education, and was the Vice Chair of the recent AVMA Practice Advisory Panel Pilot. He also holds a seat on the Executive Board for the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. Matt is specifically interested equine, small ruminant, camelid, and pot bellied pig medicine and surgery. He has a variety of animal family members including his three horses, a miniature donkey, a mule, an alpaca, two sheep, three goats, four pot bellied pigs, a Jersey steer, two geese, chickens, ducks, three golden retrievers, a daschund, a dromedary camel, and four cats. He owns Rancocas Veterinary Associates, a multi-doctor mixed animal practice located in south central NJ.
