If teamwork makes the dreamwork, then creating a team that plays together and stays together is integral to practice success. Having the tools needed to hire correctly is a start. Having a system that takes the time to accurately and effectively choose new team members is the core. And having the processes to onboard and retain the new team members is a long term goal. And, it is important to know when there is not a cultural fit or a performance fit and make the decision to make a change FAST. Take your time to hire correctly and that does take time. Don't waste anytime to fire correctly that saves your team in the long haul.

After earning his DVM degree from the University of Illinois, Dr. Weinstein worked as an associate for three years, then opened his own practice. While in practice, he attended the University of Redlands where he received an MBA to further his business acumen. Through PAW Consulting, Dr. Weinstein provides small business and corporate consultation. Concurrently, he is the Executive Director of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association. He has a wealth of veterinary background, serving in executive functions in a number of industry organizations and businesses. He puts that knowledge to work for others, writing, and speaking on practice management topics to improve the veterinary profession. Peter collaborated with Michael Gerber on "The E Myth Veterinarian- Why Most Veterinary Practices Don't Work and What to Do About It".
