This session will focus on the role of appropriate antimicrobials in animals with respiratory disease, including choosing the right antibiotic, and the appropriate duration of antimicrobials. Case examples will be utilized to emphasize important diagnostics to aid in making treatment decisions.

Laura Nafe

Assistant Professor, Small Animal Internal Medicine
Oklahoma State University

Laura Nafe obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 2009. She then went on to complete a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at North Carolina State University before completing a residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Missouri in 2013. Dr. Nafe has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine since 2013. Dr. Nafe is currently an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine Oklahoma State University. Her clinical and research interests include respiratory disease, infectious disease, and immune-mediated disease.
