Vatsala Naageshwaran received her Master’s degree in Biochemistry from Mt Holyoke College and has worked for several biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies as a Research Scientist with experience in drug discovery, assay validation, and product development. Currently as Vice President at Absorption Systems Vatsala oversees Absorption Systems’ GLP compliant facility based in San Diego that has a core emphasis in Ophthalmology. Vatsala has made presentations at various conferences including the Delaware Valley Drug Metabolism Group (DVDMG) Fall Symposium (2011) and at IQPC’s Clinically Relevant Drug Transporters Conference in 2011 and 2012. Vatsala was a speaker at Disso India 2013 and 2015 conferences presenting on BCS based biowaivers for highly variable drugs and at AAPS in 2015 on Non-clinical strategies for establishing BE for complex ophthalmic drug products. She is on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Society for Pharmaceutical Dissolution Sciences (SPDS). As part of her current role Vatsala is involved with Absorption Systems multi-platform testing integrating the use of in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models to support equivalence for complex drug products.
