I3119 Ready, Set, Go Global: Preparation for Short-Term Global Health Experiences

Monday, November 5
4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Location: W224G, Orange County Convention Center

Topic(s): International Child Health

Despite the intensity of an immersive experience in global health and the potential negative impact of visitors on in-country hosts, there are no universally accepted preparation standards for trainees and clinicians engaging in short-term global health work. This interactive forum will promote group discussions to “make the case” for preparation, identify resources to assist with preparation, and strategize to develop best practices that are applicable to individuals, training programs, and nongovernmental organizations.
