Anesthesia and the ICU: It’s More Than Passing Gas
Pediatric intensivists and pediatric anesthesiologists share a number of practice considerations. This program will delve into topics that affect the pediatric patients we share and allow attendees to broaden their perspective and ask questions. Discussion topics will include the difficult airway in the intensive care unit (ICU) from the anesthesiologist perspective, acute vs chronic pain management, neurodevelopmental implications of anesthetic agents in the operating room and ICU, and special considerations of the palliative care patient from the anesthesiologist perspective.
