Location: W311EF, Orange County Convention Center

Ten percent of children live with adults who abuse alcohol or illicit drugs. Physicians must be aware of the physical dangers to children in these homes, as well as the approach to the medical evaluation and management of this population. This session will provide an overview of the emergency medical management of the drug-exposed child and will identify the short- and long-term medical and mental health consequences for drug-endangered children.
