S3124 Vaping, Dripping, and Hookah Use: Counseling Parents and Teens

Data describing prevalence and health effects of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and marijuana use will be reviewed, including adolescent and young adult use trends, nicotine addiction risk, and progression from e-cigarettes to traditional cigarettes. Faculty also will discuss what is known about the effects of secondhand exposure to e-cigarette vapor, dripping, and hookah use. Practical approaches to asking patients about these practices and giving anticipatory guidance and helpful resources will be presented.
