Most pediatricians have limited access to child psychiatrists. As a result, the primary care provider frequently takes on that role, despite not having formal training. Many children can be evaluated and treated appropriately in a primary care office setting, with little risk to the clinician. This session will allow practicing pediatricians to learn better mechanisms of appropriate assessment in their offices and will provide practical solutions to minimize medical liability.
