C0005 Young Physician Leadership Alliance (YPLA) (Invitation Only)

Friday, November 2
7:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: W304E-G, Orange County Convention Center

Topic(s): Early Career Physicians

Leadership skills are critical for career advancement, job satisfaction, and in the everyday work we do for our patients and families. Developing these skills early on can translate into a lifetime of leadership. The AAP has a well-developed program, the Pediatric Leadership Alliance, which is built on Kouzes and Posner’s Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. Join us for the fifth session of the Young Physician Leadership Alliance provided by the AAP and Section on Early Career Physicians. Through lectures, small-group interaction, and facilitators trained in leadership development, we will explore the skills and knowledge needed to lead effectively in various career environments. Space is limited to 30 newly registered applicants each year, who will join about 90 participants who have completed session 1 and/or session 2. Participants are expected to enroll in three yearly sessions with ongoing interaction between the yearly meetings.
