This seminar will focus on the science and prevention of firearm injuries. Faculty will review the epidemiology, risks, and protective factors associated with intentional and unintentional firearm injuries and deaths. The session will look at the role of the pediatrician in firearm injury prevention as well as the state of physician “gag laws” and their implications for patient care. Future research and translational possibilities for policy and care will be discussed throughout the session.
