Hot Topics in LGBT Health: Overcoming Barriers to PrEP and Optimal Care for DSD-Affected Individuals
This program will address pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention and optimal care for individuals with disorders of sex development (DSD). First, ethical issues and safety and efficacy data around PrEP for HIV prevention in young men who have sex with men will be reviewed. Participants will learn sexual health interview skills, how to prescribe PrEP, and ongoing HIV/STI surveillance. The second half of the program will focus on the pros, cons, and timing of interventions for patients affected by DSD.
