F3131 Prenatally Diagnosed Hydronephrosis: Managing the Newborn (Repeats as F4040)

Monday, November 5
5:00 PM - 5:45 PM
Location: W311EF, Orange County Convention Center

Topic(s): Urology

With the routine use of prenatal ultrasonography, hydronephrosis is being diagnosed more often. While most cases are not associated with significant pathology and do not need treatment, some can be due to significant pathology such as high-grade reflux and/or obstruction. Faculty will review the natural history of prenatally diagnosed hydronephrosis and associated pathologic conditions. A multidisciplinary consensus statement on prenatal urinary tract dilation will be discussed as it relates to prophylactic antibiotic use and radiographic studies that should be considered.
