This is an ADVANCED COURSE and learners should be very familiar with the basic ultrasound principles and applications including FAST, vascular access, soft tissue, basic echo, before attending this course. This will be a ticketed, limited number workshop with a charge to be determined. There will be requirements for entry including having completed Beginner course (AAP or ACEP,) or an Ultrasound rotation in Fellowship. This course is designed to help propel participants to more advanced utilization of ultrasound and integration into clinical practice. Participants will hone skills through intense hands-on practice where both speed and accuracy will be encouraged through multiple repetitions. Ultrasound concepts will be framed in context of clinical decision¬ making focused primarily around the acutely ill and injured child. This will include the child with undifferentiated 1. tachycardia, 2. hypotension and/or 3.tachypnea Working closely with experts in the field, participants will learn the many pearls and pitfalls to rapid ultrasound integration into medical decision making for critical scenarios.
