This session will begin with a brief discussion of soccer participation rates, levels of play, and rules. Using a case-based format, common youth soccer injuries, such as to the hip, knee, ankle, face, and head, will be presented followed by discussion of risk factors for injury. The session will conclude with a discussion of injury prevention strategies, such as neuromuscular training, equipment, rule enforcement, training load, sleep, and stress.
