The Conrad Arensberg prize is given every four years to an outstanding scholar of work outside of anthropology. This year's award winner is Stephen Barley, Distinguished Professor, Technology Management Program (UC Santa Barbara), whose organizational studies have deeply anthropological roots and have reframed the relationship of technology and work. In addition to the Arensberg lecture, awards will be noted for the SAW Book Prize, the Diana Forsythe Prize co-sponsored with GAD, the Eric R. Wolf Prize, and the June Nash Travel Award.
