Media and other news outlets often inform parents of possible environmental exposures that can cause harm to children. Unfortunately, not all of the information is true, which may cause undo concern and confusion for parents and create challenges for pediatricians who are asked about these effects. This interactive session will discuss environmental topics that pediatricians face when parents pay attention to current events. Topics covered will include, but are not limited to, cell phones and Wi-Fi exposure, phytoestrogens in soy products, synthetic turf athletic fields, hormones in meat or dairy, fluoride, lead, plastics, and deodorant.
