Pediatricians and others who care for children often face overwhelming challenges during infectious disease outbreaks and public health emergencies. This session will provide an update on lessons learned during recent infectious disease outbreaks such as Zika and highlight steps that pediatricians can take to advocate for children and improve hospital and office practice preparedness during these situations. Strategies and resources will be shared that will lead to improved preparation and treatment of children in a public health emergency.
