This session will cover basic information regarding children’s understanding of death and approaches to talking with them about death. Participants will learn strategies for identifying and addressing guilt symptoms and grief triggers. Guidance also will be provided regarding funeral attendance and ways to handle anniversaries and holidays, and suggestions for working with school personnel dealing with grieving students. Audience members will be encouraged to ask questions and share insights from their own practice.
