Pediatricians and parents agree that children are under a significant amount of stress. Recent work on the effect of stress on weight and behavior changes shows that everyday stress can be a major obstacle that families face as they attempt to implement lifestyle changes. This presentation will provide an opportunity for pediatricians to learn more about the relationship between stress and weight, learn to identify and screen for signs and symptoms of stress in children, and learn strategies to promote stress management and healthy habits in children.
