Major strides have been made in children’s hospitals to improve patient safety. This session will focus on translating these advances to the community hospital setting with limited pediatric resources, including facilities without a pediatric emergency department, neonatal intensive care unit and/or pediatric intensive care unit. Key topics to be discussed include medication safety, appropriate admission and transfer criteria, early recognition of changes in patient status, and simulation.
