Using lecture and case illustrations, this session will highlight the scope of vitamin D insufficiency, etiologic factors known to be associated with it, and the potential consequences of untreated disease. Participants will learn about their role in preventing disease and treating it. They also will learn about the deleterious effects of soda on bone mineral density so they can counsel their patients to prevent disease.
