The session will provide an overview of brain development in the first 1,000 days of life and describe the impact of iron deficiency occurring at various points during this time. Research examining ways to remediate the injury done by infant iron deficiency also will be presented, and advocacy to avoid long-term impact of these deficiencies will be discussed.
