Radiologic imaging is a critical component of solving diagnostic dilemmas in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. While pediatric radiologists are a key resource for choosing imaging modalities, many providers do not have access to one. Couple this with the demands of increasing outpatient visit efficiency, decreasing length of stay, minimizing risks of ionizing radiation, and increasing family satisfaction, the challenge to get the right study the first time can seem daunting. This case-based session will review the controversies surrounding common imaging situations in pediatric care.
