This session will provide the latest information about poverty’s impact on children’s health, development, and achievement. Faculty will address poverty as a source of childhood stress and highlight practice strategies to improve the health of low-income children. The session will address evidenced-based strategies to screen for basic needs and adverse childhood events and connect families to resources; emerging efforts within health care systems to improve child health in low-income communities; strategies to improve well-child care for diverse low-income families; and opportunities to integrate parent perspectives into care.
