This program will present the factors causing the rapid and widespread trend away from in-person visits for common acute problems in pediatrics to online, smartphone, laptop, and other remote visits. Faculty will discuss the benefits and risks of these visits and why pediatricians need to incorporate remote visits and the technology and staffing needed to do so. The nuts and bolts of CPT coding, documentation, and billing will be described using case examples. The latest information on state laws requiring private and public payment for telehealth services will be shared as well as tools to make the business case for telehealth visits in the medical home.
